“Welcome! I’m Jared Metz, a dedicated carpenter with a passion for blending technical expertise with hands-on creativity to craft exceptional homes and spaces.
Originally trained as a mechanical engineer with a Bachelors degree, I spent two years in project engineering before realizing my true calling lay in carpentry. Eager for a more hands-on career, I relocated from Indiana to Colorado, where a serendipitous encounter during a swing dance lesson led me to my first job on a framing crew
With six years of experience under my belt—three in framing and three in finish carpentry—I’ve had the privilege of contributing to the construction of several multi-million-dollar homes alongside top general contractors in the Estes Park area. This experience has not only refined my technical skills but also deepened my commitment to delivering craftsmanship of the highest quality
My typical day begins at 4:30 am with quiet time to read my Bible and enjoy breakfast before a commute that gets me on-site by 7 am. I thrive on being hands-on, whether I’m cutting, prepping, or installing wood, or meticulously crafting and installing hardware. Throughout the day, I enjoy the challenge of developing innovative designs and efficient processes, leveraging my problem-solving skills and methodical approach to maximize efficiency and quality.
What drives me in my work is the opportunity to manifest my values—beauty, creativity, and reliability—in physical form. I believe that by consistently delivering superior craftsmanship, I contribute enduring value to the spaces I help create.
Problem-solving with creative solutions is both the most fulfilling and challenging aspect of my job. It’s where I get to integrate my personality, values, and skills into tangible results that exceed expectations.
Outside of work, my ultimate life goal is to draw nearer to Jesus and align my actions with His will. Personally, I aspire to start a family and provide them with a home of our own. Professionally, I aim to continue growing in my current role, expanding my capacity to support my future goals and provide for my family on a single income.
I’m fortunate to love what I do so much that many aspects of my work feel like hobbies. When I’m not on-site, you might find me indulging in personal hobbies like playing pinball, dancing, swimming, or biking.
Thank you for visiting my corner of the web. I look forward to collaborating with you and turning your vision into a reality with craftsmanship that stands the test of time.
